AVF&G MISSION GOALS

Mission Goals of The
Androscoggin Valley Fish &Game Association
Board of Directors

“We did not inherit this place from our ancestors…We are merely borrowing it from our children.”
In essence, the message of this old proverb is what likely compelled our founding fathers to establish the AVF&G Association way back in 1920!
As present day “Directors on the Board” we may enjoy the outdoor world a little differently than our founders, yet two common factors remain to define us! 1) We truly love being outdoors to enjoy our chosen activities.
More importantly however, is how strongly we feel about…
2) Safeguarding those outdoor experiences for future generations, as our predecessors wisely did for us!
To accomplish our goals, a difficult thing is asked of each and every Director, active participation! In addition to helping out at our April Banquet, Spring Fishing Rodeo, Summer Work Parties at the Range, and other committee activities…active participation is critically important at our monthly meetings as well! Why so important you might ask? Crucially important to share viewpoints and ideas, to motivate one another, to stay informed! Foremost: It’s the key to collectively being most effective in our endeavors to ensure the future of our wonderful way of life here in “The Great North Woods”, for this and future generations to come.
We know this is asking a great deal, given today’s hectic work and family schedules, yet isn’t there a great deal at stake? An organization is only as effective as its “Board of Directors”. An active and motivated body of individuals united in a common cause for the “Good of All” can in most cases, successfully accomplish any goal it sets out to do, large or small.
“For those who choose to spread sunshine amongst others…cannot contain it from themselves!”

Become part of the legacy... Join us as a pro-active Director!
